Well, Just back from Andrew Morris just outside dunmurry.
He was recommended by my club pro, so thought I'd get a look.

Got there, and its like an Aliddins cave for golfers, first impressions are very good, no pretense in the shop, so I am very at ease.

Met Andrew, and we had a wee chat, then we went and checked the clubs out. He asked what I had thout about, then discussed my current clubs.
We then had a 10 min consultation in which he went through shafts, club head design and ability., I explained that Iron play was my strong point but I felt that I wasnt able to get the most from my current set. I explained that I felt the shaft was not right, and so we looked further at shaft options, and decided that the kbs tour stiff would be good to try.
I went to the range to warm up, then Andrew brought out some clubs he had picked, Ping s56, r9tp both with kbs shafts, the tm burner 2.0 and an old set of ping s59 to try.

He watched me hitting balls with each of the clubs, all 6 irons. What I immediately noticed was that the shafts were a lot lighter and I felt I could hit smooth swings, where as with my irons I feel I really have to go after the ball to get the best results.

The ping s56 - wow, these look fantastic, I was very impressed. I hit these well, same distance as my current irons, but it didnt feel like as much effort. Penertrating flight, and felt like I had control.
The Tmr9tp - A touch heavier than the s56, good flight, similar distance but just not as good as the s56.
Burner 2.0 - shafts are longer than standard in these, they do not suit my eye at address, but are not bad looking. I was very suprised at the distance, they were a good club longer than mine and the other clubs I tried.
The s59 - Was very suprised at how good these were, went were they were supposed to, similar distance the s56 and looked ok, I really liked these too.

After hitting the balls went for a another chat, to go through the irons and my findings.
Andrew and I decided that my shafts were the problem, they are too heavy, and this does not help my bad shot, which is a push/block. I explained that I would like to try the mizunos and he explained that he would have a full cart in a few weeks time, and I could then call back and compare them to the s56 which were my prefered choice.
The kbs tour shaft stiff flex, seems to be ideal, so that is problem 1 solved.
There was not flight scope or monitor, we chatted, and tried clubs and chatted some more, I got to hit full shots on a range so I could see my flight and get a good feel for the different clubs.

I really enjoyed the experience with them, and the chance to try the clubs.

Now I need to decided wether to change the irons or change the shafts in my current clubs. If I change I think it will be to the s56, unless the mizzys knock my socks off!!

The KBS is a great shaft. I have them in a set of MP68s, and really like them. The new 63s are worth a look too, and you could always do a mixed set of 53 and 63. I would avoid the Taylor Mades.

I have tried the I'15 previously, and they are ok.
I am hoping to try the mp-53/mp-63, and like Ethan said, a possible split set.
I know I play off 10, but if I could putt consistantly and drive consistantly I would be lower, please dont think I am bigging myself up, I am not, it is just ball striking is the thing I do best, and possibly the only thing I actually do well! :)
I will not be buying new TM's, although I like the r9, the r11 or something will be out soon enough, and then the r11+, r11 supa dupa, r11 gimp special.......need i go on! lol

There are some deals now on MP52's. Lovely irons with a great sweet spot, which hoefully i will find one day

If you could make a set that looked like the MP53/63 and the forgiveness and ease of strike of the I15 you'd be a genius. I like the look of the new Mizzy range including the 800Pro but can't get away from how good the I15's felt.

I don't need new clubs and it's a good job as I'd be hard pushed to decide. Even the R9 TP's are looking good. As I lost my wallet and had to cut my cards up after stopping them I couldn't do anything even if I wanted to. As you know I love to try clubs out just to get a feel for how they all play. They do all play differently. I am looking forward to giving the Mizzy's a serious test hopefully this weekend. I want to hit the I15's again as it was all a bit rushed at the Ping demo even if the results were encouraging. I've suddenly got a hankering for the R9 TP's too. I feel like I should order 5 different sets and live in France

Was having a look at the 57's, but I am really after the kbs shaft, the pro at the gc was saying that the head difference is going to be minimal based on the style of club I am after, its more about the shaft.

I did like the i15 homer, the were ok, bit like the burner 2.0, but they didnt set me on fire, as I am not desperate for a new set it has to be something fantstic to get me to change! :)

Although I'm totally skint, if you do decide to change your clubs can I have first dibs on your TM Tour Preferred irons? (on a £5/month basis if possible) :D
