Razr X Tour Irons

Morning.

I played with a mate on Saturday and he had just got his new clubs - Callaway Razr X Tour. He is about the same standard as me.

I hit 3 different shots with them and the clubs looked great and went like a bullet. All were a club longer than my current clubs which surprised me. I checked the loft and these are a degree stronger across the set but this can't make a club's worth of difference can it?

Could it be the shaft? Mine are 6.0 and his are 5.5? Any thoughts Ethan?

Is it a combination of these factors?

Food for thought. Maybe I need a custom fitting session at Callaway!

I hit the standard razr x and they were about a club longer for me aswell,didnt like the stock shaft though so would get custom fit if i was gonna get some, they are nice though

The right shaft could make a clubs difference distance wise.

Funnily enough I have Razr X Tours, although with TT DG S300.

They are longer than my Mizunos (MP68 with KBS), which I attribute to a combination of stronger loft and harder clubface, and possibly a bit of game improvement assistance.

If the only difference was PX 5.5 vs 6.0, I would think that 1 club difference was a very big difference for that alone. PX 5.5 and 6.0 are roughly a half flex different, but PX are not frequency matched, so the sets are a bit more variable than some other brands. You would normally expect stiffer shafts to improve dispersion and lower flight, so possibly improve accuracy more than distance.

i tried the razr forged last year, the 6iron was a long as my 4i.

I liked them although they felt a little dead of the face compared to my current irons - Callaway X-16 Pro.

I got a set of these in late August.
3 days later I shot a 4 under 66.
In the next 2 months I played easily the best golf I've ever played - and possibly ever will...

In August I was happy to shoot 78
Now I'm racked off if I shoot 78.

The difference?

From August to October - Razr X Tour irons.

Or co-incidence - but I don't believe in them........
