I've been offered a set from a mate who paid 250 for them just before xmas, he's landed a job in a pro-shop and can get staff discount, so is obviously treating himself. Does anyone rate them? have or had a set? not got round to trying them yet some time next week hopefully. :fore:

My bud bought them from a +3 player so am a little anxious :mmm: but also got that first date feeling going on inside

That is probably a Project X Flighted shaft, so plays a bit softer than standard PX.

I had Ethan's old ones, sexy heads but the px6.0 was just too much, for me it felt boardy and I feel I had to hit a shorter punchier swing to make them work, I've since had a fitting which confirmed me to be 5.5 spec.

Oh, didn't I mention, I had those reshafted with 8.0 shafts, just forgot to change the labels :smirk:

Can you swing a 6i at above 92 mph consistently, so at the end of an hours range session (or a 4 hour 18 holes) it would still be above that 92mph. If not, give them a miss.

I think I've got first dibs on them, hopefully get my hands on them for a test early next week. My pals currently going through all the demos at work but is finding it difficult to decide, who knows how long that will take. Me buying these should quicken the process though. HJS- I've seen the picture and they are pretty, but looks can be deceiving, hope we're compatible

For Project X Flighted 6.0, which are equivalent to PX 5.5 or 6.0 FCM? Really/

Plenty of Tour pros don't swing a 6 iron consistently above 92 mph and very few use shaft as soft as Flighted 6.0 or PX 5.5.

I don't know what my swing speed is, interested to find out though.

92 mph average swing for 6i on the USPGA Tour. (So someone gets perhaps a better idea of the kind of swing that is, Luke Donald's average SS for a 6i is 92 mph.)

Most amateurs think their average SS with every club is quite a bunch more than what they are regularly capable of, and thus struggle to swing shafts that are too stiff for them. (It might not be the case here)
But would not like to see a fellow golfer waste money on clubs because of the price rather than getting what's best for their individual swings, which sadly is what tends to happen in the majority of cases.

I was 'offered' some PX 7.4 (non-flighted) a while ago! Only use I could think of was Tomato Stakes!

X-Forged heads are pretty tasty!

I use S300 in my Wilsons and my mate off 2 plays Adams idea CB1's with Project X flighted 6.0's.... Iv hit both and to be honest the 6.0 felt so much smoother than my S300's..... Now that could just be me but i swing my 7 iron at roughly 86 MPH...

I dont know if thats of any use to you and i havent hit the X Forged head but im thinking of reshafting my Wilsons with 5.5 flighted shafts as i play a little fade and these might help even more....

The Project X shafts are lighter than S300(But a good bit stiffer). People mistake that difference as feeling softer/smoother. PX are a hitters shaft.

Is it an easy fix to switch the shafts?

It is for someone who knows what they are doing, but you're going to have to factor in the cost of replacement shafts, should you find you need them, plus the cost of getting a pro to fit them, wouldn't advise you doing it yourself if you've no experience in it.
My advice, for what it's worth, would be to go and find a teaching pro that uses a Launch Monitor and then you can accurately assess whether your swing could support using these shafts first, if yes, then all good, if not, you've saved yourself some money plus stopped having the wrong equipment damage your swing development.

I really don't get what people mean by 'smooth' in iron shafts - at least when they include PX.

I think i can understand it in Driver/Woods, but it's still a bit of an alien concept to apply to something you are smashing into the ground or at a small round lump!

Cheers! Not sure I would take on the job myself tbh, thanks for all the info peeps..... mucho gracias!

Well i would consider myself as a "Hitter"...... I dont think id be classed as a swinger of the club.... It may have been the fact that they are about 10 grams lighter that S300's.... But i can say 1 thing for sure... The flight was the same.. The distance looked the same, but they definitely didnt feel stiffer than my Dynamic Golds...

If they are supposed to be stiffer then its very minimal.... Certainly not something i could feel... Like i said... The 6.0's felt way nicer to hit and i didnt have to swing them as hard as my own clubs....
Maybe the Wilson heads are heavier than the Adams....
