I haven't watched the vid, as I don't need to. You have a great swing, which is way better than mine, it is just what you do with it that is wrong. How it all goes wrong remains a mystery.
What you need to do is avoid the gym. Big is not good for golf.
Lovely, Tad bit of overswing and still coming away on the inside but really good Hywel, am no expert but there doesn't seem to be alot wrong. Anything you dont get right I would expect comes down to timing and plane.
Good effort. O and BTW 150 with a 9 iron. You crazy, what the hell do you do from 120 yards in?
Having seen the swing and the swingee in action....the swing is fine, the problem you have is 'feel', which you can only get by playing more and playing with better golfers and seeing how they play....
The range is not the same place as the golf course - practice on the range and 'play' on the golf course....
Cheers mate, I know exactly what you mean. I am joining Leatherhead tomorrow (hopefully) and going to get involved as much as possible in comps etc.
Working mostly on my putting and short game at the moment as I know I aint going to hit greens but if I can get up and down I will be able to make a decent score.
Fraction too long in the backswing which means the weight isn't quite moving across prefectly and a tad inside but you get back on a very good plane and nice extension through the shot. I have to say if you swing like that on Saturday I'm a tad concerned.
I like it, little bit tight maybe but a good precise swing, I wish mine had some of your attributes.Cant see wrists and club head position throughout though so cant see faults there is there are any?
I only comment that I would make is to echo others and say that you do exactly the same as me and overswing slightly, although the 9iron seemed perfect. Is the reason that you cant hit your driver down to a high slice?
Looks very good to me HTL, the overswing is only very slight, I expect that'll shorten as you get older anyway and I wouldn't say it was an issue really.
The distances you're hitting with the short irons are longer than many pros, remember accuracy rather than distance is key here - you may find if you slow down the short iron swing a bit you'll see better accuracy even if it means hitting 1 club more?
