Range

When you go to the range what is your usual workout?

Thanks Connor

Practice ground for me, standard stuff really, stretching then half wedges, full wedges, onto a mid-iron to do the majority of my practice, back down to a wedge for tempo then a few drivers before heading over to the practice chipping/putting green to finish off the session (all time/daylight permitting of course).

Read about your win in GM last night, fantastic golf.....well done Connor. :D

Depends if I'm working on a swing change or just practicing. If its a swing change I'll hit a few wedges and short irons to get loose and then begin to practice the specifics with something like a 7 iron. Once I have it working I'll use a long iron and if its going particularly well finish with a few woods.

If I'm just practicing I'll normally spend a while on my wedge and short iron shots to specific targets and then work through my bag (I alternate between odd and even each time) until I get to the driver. I'll then go back and hit a few shorter irons again to make sure I retain a good tempo. I find that 100 balls is more than enough these days or I tend to get too quick with my rhythm and a bit tired and sloppy with my swing

I generally hit alot of 6 irons. After a while of just hitting them straight I then practice shaping the ball, ie, 3 draws, 3 straight, 3 fades, keep doing that a few times to get it sorted and then wedges.
I often leave my driver at home if I go to the range as I tend to get sucked into the smacking as many balls over the fence game if I have it with me(no will power).
But then again I don't practice nearly enough because I'm lazy.

I'm a newbie so once I'm loose I'll focus on a particular element of my game. I currently have a six iron on loan from my pro till my irons arrive so its either ball striking(with the 6), pitching, chipping or putting. On a weekend I'll go round the Par 3 a couple of times as well to hone my short game.

Because everything's new I tend to just work on engraining each part of the technique. I take two practice swings to every full swing and only tend to hit 60 balls a time. This will probably go up to 90 when I have a fuller bag and have more areas of my game to work on.

I start of with wedges and work down to 4 or 5 iron then I play par 4's or 5's so I hit a drive or 3 wood then I will play a shot to about 160-200 yards so I get to work through the bag.

I never prctice putting though ??????? mmmmmmmmmmm

My routine differs on what i'm going there to specificaly do but after a few warm up balls i try to pick targets and work through the bag as if i was playing a round.

Or if i'm there to practice my short game, i just take a couple of wedges and get 50 balls and try different shots.

Mono, ive not got this months GM yet but i have read about your triumphs in the free local paper, just dont forget us when you make it "big time" and if you need a bagman gizza shout :D

Would do anytime Stuart :)

When i have time to practise i hit 6 irons 8 irons for the long game side and 48 52 56 and 60 for my wedges.

With my wedges i have the four locations hit 10 balls from each and repeat 3 times!

I tip up, roll a fag and put my glove on. Immediately reach for the driver, top and slice a few with that, sigh and club down to something like a 5 iron to convince myself it was the club and not me. Discover it was me, give the remaining 30 or so balls to the young lad in the next bay and go and have a pint.
