Range session #2- that 4i just might stay

Ok, so with the misses out on a Christmas work doo that got cancelled due to snow, I thought tonight would be a nice quiet night to hit the range and play with my new wedge drills.

Warmed up, stretched, few practice swings and 10 easy 8i's to get the blood moving before settling in with the wedges........ Or that was the plan. After the 10 8i's I thought I'd hit a few 6i's for good measure. After a nice few shots I thought what the heck and I'll hit a few 4i's. Sh*t a brick Tuesday's swing is still here, and followed 6/7 very nice sweet shots, ok quick onto the driver before it goes wrong, 3 drives later I'm back for another 15 4i's. Jesus that club is bloody addictive. 

After finishing that bucket of balls off with the 4i it was time for another bucket for wedges but I couldn't resist playing the last handful of balls with my 4i.

Yes I'm still not favouring the 4i over my hybrid solely due to flight & carry more suited for this time of year, but if Sunday is windy my 4i could make its first course appearance in over 9 months.

I guess you'll be in a three club and a putter event sometime soon then. I'll tell you what though, knowing you can hit 4 irons well will do confidence for the rest of your bag. Pull any iron and you can stand there and know if you can hit great 4's the one in your hands will be easy. Cue a smooth swing, great tempo and a decent shot.

Don't have a 2 or 3 do that's off the cards, but as homer said knowing your hitting sweat 4i is a major step in confidence. I looked at my 6i and thought " honestly how can you miss hit with this " from the 6i's I hit, using the 100 yard Marker as my line up point I doubt my dispersion was more that 2/3 meters max. As I'm likely to use 6i down more importantly 8i down fit sure, confidence is booming.

I utterly love my 4 iron. Its a much more reliable club than these stupid hybrids. Trying to get hold of a 2 iron, if only for shits and giggles. Never tried one but cant be that much worse.
