Does anyone use them? Ive just ordered the Suaoki 660 Yards Digital Laser Rangefinder off amazon for £99.99. Comes with an LCD display which shows the yardage you just locked on to so if you wear glasses like myself you can see it clearly without having to adjust much.Anyone else used this brand before? seems very good value

Just about everyone here does - bar myself and a few others. I can't advise but others will. If you search the forum there are a lots of thread that will help you as it's a topic much discussed.

Really fancy getting one with the slope function. Would be good to go around my course and see what the differences in yardages was with the slope. Unfortunately they are just a bit too pricey at the moment.

Not used that brand before but I'm sure they are all pretty similar. I use a Nikon coolshot and love it, one of my best purchases, gives me more confidence knowing what distance I have - the battery ran out halfway through a comp last weekend and I was lost without it!!! I have now stocked up on spares so it never happens again!!

ive been using Golfshot on my apple watch for about 2 years now. whilst I love having the yardages on my watch I like the idea of when I am closer to the green I can pick out where the pin is and adjust.. also if I forget to add my score into the apple watch it doesn't auto switch to the next hole .. a few times I have been like oh damn forgot to do the score there and takes me a few mins to get the yardage for the hole im actually on. Least with this I can get instant yardage and if the battery runs out I will have the apple watch for back up

Exactly. Also I frequently use it for yardages to bunkers, layup distances, hazards, trees etc. Much more versatile than GPS i think.

Both GPS and range finders are a great solution.

It comes down to your gameplay and personal preference.

I like to pick spots and use the laser to get the club to hit the shot I want. I would find it hard to use a GPS the way I do a rangefinder but I could adapt if I changed.

Not familiar with the brand but I got mine 2nd hand for that price and never looked back.

To be honest mate they're not worth the money. I bought the V3 slope one then realised you couldn't change the faces on that one to make it competition legal so I sent it back. I used it once and to be honest the yardages were not far off from what you would expect allowing for between 5-10 yards on most holes (though on our very steep par 3) there was a 18-20ish yard increase.

We're not that good for exact yardages anyway so i'd suggest something like a snooper S400 which I think I got mine for £80-90 from the bay. does the job.

Aye I've got a garmin watch so fine for distances just fancied seeing the difference in slope. I played with someone that had one and he mentioned about the slope so he knew when to club up etc. But he's off 2/3 and one of the best players at the club so maybe it makes a difference for me but as you say probs not me. Should probs just club up on most approaches anyway.

Not heard of that brand and Id be looking for reviews before parting with any money for it. I have the Nikon coolshot 20, weel worth the money.

They seem to be 89.99 now

the one without the LCD screen on amazon is 89.99 the one with the LCD screen is 99.99 (cheaper on ebay but wanted to get through amazon to get tomorrow)

the LCD seems a good feature for those like myself who have to wear spectacles

Ive got the Tour x that has the removable slope plate. used it initially around my home track and there is only one hole with any real difference the 13th though the 5th had a couple of yards if you were far enough back.

used it around Gleneagles Kings and a fair few of those it made a difference.

Handy if you play lots of other courses

My range finder arrived today..

has the slope function! Will be good to see it in action soon..

not bad for £99

How have you found it?

I have been out once using it, other time was foggy couldnt use it.

I found it very good.. but flags in distance can be hard to lock down if their is a tree nearby. 150 yards and in it was fine. I compared it to my GPS and it was on the mark

tried it down the range aswell to their greens to just get used to it. Id say it was a good purchase

I'm looking at the Suaoki 660 Yards Digital Laser Rangefinder mainly for use on the range and the practice ground to get some accurate distances, and to use on the course from 120 yards an in as a supplement to my GPS. Some good reviews around so tempted

Homer thats the one I purchased for £99 (with the side LCD screen) £89 for the one without

I like it

Is the LCD worth the cost or is it a bit gimmicky?

Personally I went for it as I wasnt sure how clearly Id see through the eyepiece wearing my glasses (btw is brilliant... you can clearly see with them on) anyways I find it useful because I can look on the side to double check

for £10 I just went for it. However the LCD screen model has less features is mainly just for golf. the other one you can judge speed of things apparently.. (for watching motor racing etc) so maybe go for the LCD one as its more golf focused
