Raining again

First rain in Cheshire for about 3 weeks, and boy do the greens need it. Yes, you are being a tad wimpish - get out there and play, and enjoy it. You won't melt.

Quite looking forward to playing later as the course might be a bit quieter. Then again it's rained for about 2 hours so my course will probably be on temps now for the next 2 months

Quite pleasant up here in Embra this morning. The strong winds of yesterday have blown themselves out and it's dry at the moment. Been out for a bit of short game practice this morning and it's a good golfing day :D Practice a must now as season starts in two weeks and big trip North is five weeks today.

Playing over in the West tomorrow at Troon Darley. Hopefully the forecast will be correct and it will be another day like today.

I've been out and its a pretty grubby day, it hasnt stopped raining all morning, wet through.

43 points in the bag so i'm waiting to head up there tomorrow and see if thats going to be enough to take the win. I bet it isnt.

All my gear is in the house drying out. Hope its a nicer aftenoon tomorrow than the morning we've had.

Aye we got wet on our wee trip down the coast to the Goat Track, was steady for the 1st 4 holes then it stopped and we all thought that was it but sadly it tipped it down for the last 4...still enjoyable tho!

Just up after nightshift.

Thinks its been OK here, ground is dry! Hope everyone got wet since I'm not golfing!

Yet another round to 7 under your handicap? :o.....You're not making a convincing argument for preventing a severe handicap cut at Luton Hoo!!!
:D :D

I know i know....It should have been so much better - see my new thread regarding scotty's. Its a short course, honest! :) And its a bit wet and i'm pretty much pitching my way round it!! 38 putts. You can't cut someone taking that many. :D

I might be off a bit less by then, the season starts on the 1st April and I think I'll get into 2 comps which should count. Currently at 12.4. And, last year, I played in virtually every comp i could so there's honestly no 'banditry' going on. the quicker im off single figures the happier i'll be :) :)

OK so I read the thread and you think you should have taken 6 fewer putts than you did and gone round in scratch!!!! :o

Short course or not, you are tearing it up at present and deserve to have your legs chopped out from under you!!!!
Anyway, I might have to put it to the Inter-services match committee, (ie all the other players!!) and see what they think!!!! :D :D

Nice golf...keep it up....

BTW, get a Scotty...I did a few months ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Ha Ha, I dont mind what I have to play off at Luton, it'll be a good day and i'll be aiming to get round in under 85! Not used to hitting 3 irons for my approach shots...... ;)

I am playing my best golf just now, its been worth perservering through the winter this time, glad i have and Im looking forward to a good year to be honest.

I think I will buy one, might head to AG tomorrow and see what they have as HID's is at another spa day so I could sneak one into the bag then. :D

Played in heavy squally drizzle this morning. Actually that's a lie. HTL played and I occasionally popped in with the odd guest appearance. It was a 4 ball event (combined stableford scores off 3/4 handicap) and he managed to amass 2/3 of our score on his own. My sole highlight was a 52 wedge at the 2nd to about three foot to set up birdie.

I was truly shocking which has put me in a filthy mood all afternoon especially as I was hitting it so well at the range midweek. OK granted I'm suffering from a heavy cold and everything was aching, it was horrible conditions and I wasn't really up for it but there was some real dross today. Glad I'm not playing tomorrow. Having a duvet day and see if I can shift this cold

Good hot Toddy is required Homer.

Couple of spoonfuls of honey, add some boiled water till the honey disolves, a good big glug of whisky, add some more boiled water to taste. (You can add a couple of cloves or a cinnamon stick if you like and leave for a couple of minutes!)

Squeeze a wedge of lemon into it and enjoy. You'll sleep like a baby.

I was crap. No actually I was worse than that. Think HTL had the hump big time with me and I can't blame him as he did well in tough conditions and scored 32 points off 13 (including a powder puff 288 yard drive in the wet)

What did I say midweek Homer? Range form means sweet F.A.....knocking it nicely in a field means nowt...get over the man flu and bash on,your quest for single figures is being watched with interest...
