OK I admit it... I am here to show off!
As our clubs match was rained off and the medal and stableford were badly hit by rain today a fair few of us stayed indoors and had some fun.
Using what resembles something from a school fete we played a game to see who could get the highest score.
Its a little wooden board with golf hole sized doors in it, the middle one being 10, 1 and 2 out side that, then 3 and 3, 4 and 5, 6 and 7 and finally 8 and 9 on the very outside ones Each door was separated by 1 inch distance.
Putting the whole length of the clubhouse bar area various members of the clubs match players, medal players and others hanging around the bar took three balls and a putter and tried to get as many points as possible.
The first few got up to 17, I had a go and scored miserably. Then someone got 20, I had another go and got about 5. The top score got to 21 before I had my 3rd go.
The first one went in the 10, then the second did too! I had to wait for the waitress to bring out someones lunch then I had my third ball.... a 10! To an almost rapturous applause!
As of course I could not be beaten out came a left handed putter, I only got about 10 and someone got 21 with that.
When that got old out came a kids 17 inch (ish) Garringus esq putter.
I was first to go again, I holed my 1st in the 10, then the second hit the edge of the 10 and went in.. Finally my third hit the edge of the 10 and stayed out!
I later scored 21 to win that too.
My prize.. a ProV1 sleeve... with no balls in it.
Anybody elses club do fun things to pass the time until the rain eases off?
