just had an email from my club informing us that the first 3 medals (2nd,3rd,6th April) of the season have been cancelled due to the current state of the course (due to the horrible winter) and the forecast for the next seven days.

in the grand scheme of things its going to help the course in the coming weeks buts its so frustrating as I've been looking forward to this week for so long.

if i ever met bad weather down an alley i would kick the sugar out of it :D

right, need to go and pick up all my toys that I threw out of my pram

That sucks & you just made me check weather forecast for Saturday...

50/50 chance of a quick thunderstorm, so we might have to play around it but comp should still be on

I find it incredible that in April some courses are still struggling when ours looks fantastic. Gutted for you.

We over on the east side have got away with so much this year compared to most of the country.

We have our opening event on Saturday. Given the Friday forecast (20mph winds and heavy rain ALL day) and Saturday to rain all day, I wouldn't be surprised to get an email announcing that it has been cancelled.

Captains versus Vice-Captains on Saturday.
Morning and afternoon shotgun starts.
Weather forecast 12 degrees , southerly wind, light rain in afternoon.
Our group off 10 th tee at 8.30.
Course in good nick.
Looking forward to it but will probably struggle off the back tees.
Sorry for all those still having problems with cancellations.

Luckilly, our place has been useless at organizing comps and had nowt planned until April 30th...I kid you not. After a rant at the AGM about this, i'm the new comp sec and have put on extra comps, with the first being on the 10th April. surely things will be ok by then...........

If it does rain and it has to be cancelled, someone is going to say " I told you so". It it your decision entirely but personally " I would not lamp them one " 👍

Im so lucky to be a member of a links course first medal of the season this Saturday ,course is in great condition too. I feel for anyone who is a member of a parkland ect still struggling with the weather my old parkland club was the same.

we have a midweek medal today and a stableford on Sunday, first monthly medal is next sat, but away playing western.

usually play an open at Golspie 2nd April (last weekend in March) but playing in a club match against/at Royal Dornoch instead this year so def not raging;)

Know what you mean. Played my old track, Hilton Park, on Monday and it was like a bog. Ground was very soft. Having played irvine last Thursday, which was in great nick, it was night and day. Links golf is the way forward,I fear.

now I'm raging!!!!

planned to go and hit some balls at Nairn, been beautiful all day, now rain and hailstones:(

Hailstones the size of marbles belting down here now, bouncing 3feet in the air , boom thunder too, I was sitting out in the sunshine only half an hour ago. WTF.
