caught this on the way back from Bristol and realised most of you are still slaving or will not normally tune to radio 2.

Tomorrow morning at 7:30am on the Chris EVans programme there will be a 30 minute auction in aid of Children in Need.

You will be bidding for a four-ball with Chris Evans and Lee Westwood. The match to be played at Sunningdale (date and time to be arranged).

The winner and partner will be caddied by Lee's usual caddy, they will have a Radio 2 DJ.

My wife tells me the Cricket one went this morning for £65k. Lee head that this morning and phoned Chris and said he would give up a day.

I think there is a rumour that MikeH is bidding for it and if successful will donate it as first prize at the Blackmoor meet ...... :D :D :D

Another great day out for some rich guy.

This is the biggest problem with this sort of thing.
Fantastic if you've got 100k lying around waiting to be given to charity but to the ordinary man in the street its a complete waste of time.

I know it is for a good cause but surely it should be re-named Auction for things ordinary people cannot possibly afford. Don't get me wrong 65k for a cricket day has in essence reached it's objective of raising the most ammount possible for C.I.N but why not have these wonderfull prizes as a raffle instead.Let's say £10.00 for a book of 10 tickets sold in august until november that way everyone gets a chance not just millionaires who can afford this sort of thing anytime they like anyway. I'm sorry but Radio 2 this smacks of eletism of the highest order.

Yes, its rubbish that lots of people who would love it won't win it, but it's very good for the charity, which I think is the main thing here.

Lee is doing it as a favour to the charity, not to the man in the street who would love to play with him.

If I had the money I would pay for that. Would actually enjoy the round with Chris Evans as much as Lee Westood.
