Do you think having the season finale in Dubai devalues the whole season? I think European golf fans deserve to see the culmination to the season at a premier European course. I'm all for taking the tour around the world during the season, but for the season finale I want to sit on a Sunday afternoon with a beer watching Rory and the rest battle it out in the wind and rain not sunning themselves in the desert.

Dont think you would get many of them battling it out in the wind and rain

Why? Superb conditions, very well event and guaranteed decent weather. Seems a smart move. Not going to get that in November in the UK or much of Europe so unless they are going to do some major reshuffling of the calendar it ain't going to happen. I can't see the tour doing that?

I think it enhances the Tour and gives it an opportunity to match up with the PGA in attracting the best players. Great courses, conditions and climate = sponsorship. European climate cannot provide at this time of year. The desert/SA swing gives us all year round golf.

But how many European fans get to see it? You get that sort of viewing every week on the pga.

Well you don't get that many out watching on the course when the events are on mainland Europe

The main event is the PGA but the rest have average size crowds

Pros won't want to play in horrific weather and just as fans won't want to stand around in poor weather watching them struggl e

The Race to Marbella isn't quite as tempting to be honest!

I much preferred the good old Order of merit. The ET just followed the money and I believe in the long run it will be to European golf's detriment. Outsourcing your main event to foreign climes, just for the cash, can't be good for the game

Well European golf seems to be doing pretty well over the last couple years so the RTD doesn't seem to be having a negative effect

See no problem and the Race seems to be a decent carrot at the end of a season. No difference in essence to the Fed Ex and an end of season payday

No problem with the cash carrot, good luck to 'em. But you can't see a difference with the pga playing their finale on home soil and the ET outsourcing? You're not telling me the ET would have ever considered such a move if it was'nt for the massive funding from Dubai? and it's hardly encouraged the playing elite to spend more time on the ET.

You can't compare the ET end of season with the Fed Ex

They have the climate to be able to host it in the states

The ET has finished in the sunnier climates for a good deal of years now

Where else do you expect them to play end of Nov ?

I did'nt say play at the end of November. Can you not remember the Order of merit playing to it's conclusion in Europe? It's only moved to November to facilitate playing in Dubai. The top players are still no more interested, preferring USA. They all play only the minimum to qualify for big payday.
