Race to Dubai-anti climax?

So with Rory opening up a lead so big that Ladbrokes have him at 1-200 to win this, will the race to Dubai final series be a total let down? Do the Americans have it right with the points reset in the fed-ex cup to guarantee a competition to the very end?
Personally I think if Rory wins it early then fair play to him but I wonder if this will put off sponsors of the bigger, later events.

with the Fed Ex you will get players doing enough to make the finals etc

I think Rory deserves to win it, he's been head and shoulders above everyone else for the last few months.

I think the key question is, given that it is supposed to be a season long competition. If they reset the points to keep it competitive, and Rory didn't win, then would it be an accurate reflection of the season's golf?
I say it would not.
