Well,

I realise that I change clubs as often as I change my sock, but.....

I bought an r9 Supertri on a whim after selling my 909, its an 8.5 deg head, and I got a custom shaft fitted, all should be good, however, I find myself having to grip down or set up open to get a half decent strike, I think the head has too little loft for me. When I hit it out the screws, it goes miles, and the ball flight is fantastic, but it is not often enough for me.

So, do I go back to a 909 with a voodoo shaft, that I hit well and like, or do I perservere over the winter to try and get used to the tm.

thanks

Can I ask why you decided to switch from the Titleist?

I have the regular R9 and find it great. I have been looking for the head off a Supertri to see how it plays.

I might be wrong about this as I'm no expert but isn't the supertri a high spin driver and the 909d3, like the standard R9 and the 910d3, a low spin driver?

If I were you, I'd stick with the One that works

The Supertri is certainly optimised for a higher launch with the standard shafts - I just got rid of mine 10.5 for the 910 D2 9.5 which gives a much more penetrating flight for me but the different shaft as well was a major contributor to that.

It has a custom shaft as the stock motore was junk.
Just think maybe 8.5 deg is not for me. Think I may have a look over the winter at a change, going back to a slightly smaller head, maybe a callaway tour octane black with a px shaft, hit one on a monitor at custom golf and went well, just need to get onto a range.
