Assuming the heads are interchangeable.

How bespoke are driver and fairway wood shafts? I have a stock R11S driver shaft that I no longer use and am considering cutting it down to fit into my R11S 4wood. I just cannot get on with the TP shaft that came with it.

Question, if I do cut the shaft down will it represent a decent fairway shaft?

I think you would need to tip it to get it to flex correctly. Fairway wood head is heavier than a driver head so it will play soft if you just cut the butt end and plug it in.

If you are prepared to lose the cash you might get (10-15 quid?) for the stock Driver shaft, then it might be worth doing.

However, it's not as simple as it could be.

Tip trimming 1" is the norm, as already posted, so you would have to remove the adapter! And of course the grip to butt trim as well.
And indeed, FW shafts tend to be heavier than Driver ones (10gms is normal).

So I'd suggest it's too much hassle/risk for an unknown result. Better to simply find a shaft that works for you in the 3W. The changeability means that's a pretty simple and testable process.

Of course, you could (sort of) test it out as ii, but would have to grip down a long way, so it wouldn't really be a true test and it would feel softer - which is the reason for the 1" tipping.
