I have recently purchased a R11 4 wood and 4 Rescue and hitting them well but my bad shot with this club is a hook where as previously and with my other clubs my bad shots are big big fades....

Out of interest what adjustment settings do you guys have with your R11's or play them as standard or would you classify this as waste of money :D

Could be looking to add the driver to my Bag......

Everybody will have different settings, so the next man wont help. As someone said on here recently it is never the gun but always the gunner.

How often do you hit the hook? If it's only occasionally then it's nothing to do with the club settings, just a bad swing.

The comments prior to mine are correct, although the theory is that if you were to put a lighter weight in the heal port and a heavier weight in the toe port (possibly keeping the overall weight the same if you are happy with the overall swing weight of the club) will make it fractionally more difficult to turn the toe over, producing a hook.

I assume that there are two ports here, one in the heal and one in the toe of the club.

On the R11 clubs I've have it's only the driver that has the weight ports, my 3 5 and hybrid only have the face and loft adjustment.

I tend to fade the ball naturally so have set the sole plate to the closed setting.

If you are hooking you could try setting it to open.

As has been written above everyone with a R11 is going to have the club setup for their swing. Your best bet is to take the tool to the driving range and play with settings until you find one that is the best or closest to what you want, after that it's just down to practive and perfecting your swing.

Cheers
Dave

If you are genuinely interested in the driver, I have one for sale for £200.00 plus any postage.I loaned it to someone to try out, but he is sticking with his original driver. I should get it back within the next week.

It has a perfect head cover, the proper taylor made wrench and info pack. The club has been used for only about 20 rounds, so has some very slight scuff marks under the head but is in excellent condition, generally. Genuine taylor made with a stiff shaft, the loft is the 9 degree, which can be adjusted up to a 10 or down to an 8 degree. I will be putting it in the for sale/wanted section, as I also now have a powakaddy electric trolley for sale, after winning a motocaddy on ebay last night.

I will let it go for £200.00 plus postage now, or will put on there in the next few days, but will be based on auction.

My bad shot was a low hook caused from coming from the inside with hip slide instead of turn. I opened the face loft up .5* which improved ball flight, left the adjustable sole plate in neutral and moved the heavy weight to the toe ( swap from standard position )

It made results more condistant and with the setting my bad shot become more of a high soft to medium draw. In general I found it less consistent to my 09 burner so sold it. The burner suits me better.

If you really want the most from them I'd suggest a set up lesson with a pro who knows the r11 range
