Fuzzy Zoeller always provides a few that are really worth listening to. His latest when asked to define the status of Tiger Woods in the world of golf responded : "HE IS IN A CLASS OF HIS OWN AND THE REST OF US ARE PLAYING HOOKEY" Has anyone got contributions to add to my collection ?

No, not at all. My old friend the late Fred Daly had one on his winning The OPEN. Over the years Frank Stranaghan's second shot to tie with Fred got closer and closer to the pin. At a function, just before he died he said: "One of these days it will drop in and I will have to out for a 36 hole play-off" (This applied in 1947)

The Golf books are full of these. One that I enjoyed was in Nick Faldo's autobiography.
Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf are practising for the Open with two grumpy old Scottish caddies. Weiskopf hits a magnificent long iron on a par three. It bounces once and jumps into the hole. No response from the caddies. Nicklaus turns to them, ''Gentleman, don't you think Mr. Weiskopf's shot deserves some applause''.
Reply from the Fifer. ''Whit fur? He's only practising''.
