Hi everyone,

Thinking about buying some pre-order tickets for the golf show seeing as I can get 3 free rounds of golf (one possibly being at one of Tom Watson's fave courses Royal Dornoch) I have a friend that I would like to play the rounds with. Are these free rounds redeemable for more than 1 person? and also my friend can't buy a ticket because he unfortunately cannot make the show. Also is it a good day out and what activities, fittings etc. should I do there?

cant answer the free rounds question but the actual 'golf show' is not worth it IMO, full of hotel and holiday companies or someone flogging a new 'TEE' that gets 3 extra yards, queues for anything remotely interesting are huge.

At the London one there were lots of clothing stalls selling stuff that is way over the top from what you can buy online.

Holiday companies get a good look in as do accessory sellers, the only remotely interesting gadget that I saw was a device that looked like a metal empty reel of fishing line that a golf ball will fit into snugly when putted to. Now , I thought this is quite handy for my indoor/outdoor putting practice so I enquired how much?
i was expecting the bloke to say something around a tenner , at that price I would have gone away with two or three in the bag, but he said £25 a pop!! I and this other bloke that was interested nearly fell through the floor and told him what we were prepared to pay but no joy.

There were chipping demonstrations and other ball hitting stuff going on which was ok as I was there on the first day ( Friday ) got to see a few demos.

They had a virtual hole stand with proceeds going to charity that was busy all day ( longest drive where you out drive or equal a celeb golfer) .

The show was not that big and would I go again? Maybe , the ticket was only £18

Enjoy the day, but don't take HID she will get bored!

To answer your question, only you will be entitled to a free round, not your mate (unless he goes too).

He could buy a ticket, give it to you and you could collect his free round passes?

Getting the vouchers for free rounds is one thing. Being able to use them when you want to is a completely different scenario all together :-)
