Many people ask, will you have any lessons before the season starts...

I had a lesson last year because all my drives were going off to the right, a half hour lesson with a great teacher put this problem right and i came away a very happy man and started to get my score down nicely..

So why would people just go for a couple of lessons if there is nothing to go for??

When you get to your lesson they normally ask you, how can i help!! So if you stand there and say well actually just thought i would come for a lesson before the season starts wouldnt you look a bit odd?!!

I always thought the idea of a lesson was to put something right that is wrong!!

Yes im not the best golfer out there but i know i can play well and yes i do have my fair share of bad shots and rounds but i wouldnt think going for a lesson would sort this out as i know that im more than capable of playing well..

Well I often used to have what I'd call an annual service in March or April each year. Amazing how little things could creep in (grip a bit strong, alignment a bit closed, ball position a bit off) that didn't mean I was htting it badly but getting them sorted meant I was hitting it better.

Would get pointers on things to look out for and work on during the year and check out why my good ones were good and my bad ones were bad.

no no im not trying to say im perfect im just saying if i was to go for a lesson then yes without a doubt he would find something wrong but the last time i went i went because my driving was terrible.. if i had major problems with a certain part of my game then yes i wouldnt hesitate going for a lesson

It just depends what you want really. If it is just a quick fix of a problem then yeah one or two lessons concentrating just on the fault is what would be needed. If however you want to cut strokes of an already low handicap you will need regular lessons, commited practice routines, short game lessons, playing lessons, no way you can do this with a quick fix.

I always try to have a lesson at the begining of the season, just to make sure everything is on track..and hitting it straight, well straight ish...lol
