That was one of the best documentaries/anthologies I have ever seen. Superbly put together, everyone involved, all the stories, the highs and lows.

The emotion Brian May and Roger Taylor showed at times was really moving.

Got the three Greatest Hits albums lined up to listen to this morning at work.

Not seen part two yet, but I really enjoyed part one. The bit where May was talking about his Dad coming to see them play MSG the first time was really moving.

The only thing I didn't like was the very little mention of John Deacon. I know he's now a recluse but they only really acknowledged him in any depth when talking about "Another One Bites the Dust" and even then it was more in a negative way than a positive one.

It's almost like he wasn't in the band.

John doesn't get on with Roger and Brian these days. He views the way that they're treated the band's legacy as something akin to taking a massive piss on Freddie's grave.

After seeing the 5ive version of "we will rock you" i'm obliged to agree with him.

Yea, he does have a point. Whether May and Taylor like him or not, they need to acknowledge that he was a massive part of that band. Some of his bass lines were pure riddum.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Paul Rodgers fan, but deciding to do a "Queen" tour with him was not the right thing to do either. It does seem that they both want to parodize (is that a word?) their legacy as much as they possibly can for as much money as they possibly can.

That said, it was a good documentary with good insight into the song writing and experiences the band had.

Makes me remember how awesome Freddie was as well. :(

Me and the misses saw Queen play at Maine Road (her first proper concert)and no matter who we have seen since she always says about the lead singer, "He's not as good as Freddie" and she's not really a Queen fan. She's right too! They will never ever be another. Watching him last night (on catch up) brought a back lots of memories for me. I've been a fan since Killer Queen, when I'd have been about 10yo. The man had an awesome singing voice, of that there is no doubt, but his song writing skills and ability to put his passion into a song (Another One Bites The Dust) was just amazing. (I'd put phenominal but can't spell it). Not looking forward to the second part. Probably will watch that Sunday night.
