Everybody should try it to improve their quality of strike to get more from the centre of the club face. If your struggling to understand exactly much off centre strikes affect your game (and your ball) then have a look at this ....

Now we can see why all club manufacturers like to tell us about his MOI, and resistance to twisting on off centre strikes in their clubs

Doesn't look like it's the off-centre hits that are causing the twisting - perhaps that topped 3-wood excepted. It's the lack of stability through impact that's the cause imo.

The sweet spot is actually a long way from the point at which a player actually has contact with it, so there is plenty of torque involved at impact.

Can't argue with that, assuming that by quality of strike they mean finding the sweet spot.

The sweet spot is the centre of gravity for the clubhead so all its mass is centred on that spot.

Just hold a club in two fingers at the top of the shaft and let it hang down, then tap the face with a finger from your other hand, when you hit the sweet spot the clubhead doesn't twist and feels solid.

We all know that feeling when the ball comes right out the sweet spot and you can barely feel the impact.

Interesting shots. It looks like the off-centre hit twists the club.

I've got some big improvements in ball striking from a simple drill of feet together, ball in the centre, then quarter, half and three quarter swings just to practice being balanced through the ball strike.

I can see what they are trying to say but the clubface is square at impact. I also noticed that the only club that doesn't twist much at impact is the Titleist. There is a lot to be said about the quality of shaft as most of them wobble like a jelly after the ball is struck.

It might be the middle of the club-head, but it's 2.5-3 inches away from the shaft - which is what is in the hands of the player! There's absolutely going to be some torque at impact! If the centre of mass was on the shaft line, holding a club with the face horizontal would stay horizontal (face balanced). Every Driver I know ends up with the face pretty much vertical!

The last one- Taylormade driver used by Luke Donald. Pretty much no twist....because it's struck well (same as Hoffman's Titleist).

The ones that twisted were amateur swings. Hardly TMs fault.

Go TM :D
