In my opinion, the world cup should never have been given to this country. For lots of reasons, not least the temperatures, human rights violations, homophobic laws etc etc.

It's disappointing to me that the only reason being considered for changing that decision is possible corruption during the bidding process. And it's now clear that the investigation into that process is going to be a whitewash. Blatter has come out and stated that the allegations are "racist" in origin and that when the results of the investigation are published "that will be the end of it".

I'd like to see countries now coming out and stating that their teams won't take part if the finals are held in Qatar.

What do you think? At what point do the country associations tell FIFA enough is enough?

It will never happen, too many with their snouts in the trough. Money talks and has ruined football imo.

I think it being held in qatar is a joke. certainly alot of brown envelopes changing hands durring the selection process

There are far too many people with fingers in pies in FIFA with Blatter being the worst

Always amusing when they hold their own "investigation"

Things won't change because lots of money changes hands and anyone who does stand up to Blatter just gets thrown out

I think FIFA know they have made a mistake with Qatar and the only reason they are investigating the corruption allegations is to find a way out of it, they outcome will be World cup will be moved (We have a chance of hosting it) some lower Fifa delegate will be hung drawn and quartered and FIFA will bring in new legislation that will only strengthen there hand.

The President of Uefa should have a set term. That would help preserve the improvement and integrity of the game. Rather than benefit from their position.

Qatar is a joke. I havn't spoken to anyone that thinks otherwise.

Blatter is as corrupt as they come. Platini isn't far behind and so its no surprise to see them supporting Qatar and its bid. It has a terrible record on so many issues and it should never have gone there. No way will teams pull out. Fifa would merely sanction them and then the game splinters and dies as an international event

Allegedly

There may be some progress when the sponsors (Sony being one of them) start calling for PROPER investigations.

Nothing FIFA does surprises me! Crooked as a barrel of snakes - and just as nasty imo!

Absolutely spot on Phil.

As for the Qatar WC the issues around the football situation alone should be enough reasoning for it not to be held there.

It is a bit bizarre that this kind of goes on. Everyone knows the process of deciding where it will be held is at best highly suspicious, at worst corrupt. Yet most of FIFA act as if it's fine. Despite the fact that the report by FIFA said before it was awarded that holding it in Qatar was risky for all sorts of reasons.

To be honest I think they are buggered as if they redo the bid then Qatar will sue them to high heaven and it will set a precedent that any award can be challenged. And if they kind of ignore what everyone knows and go ahead then it will just be ridiculous.

It also amazes me when you read about the people in power in world football. The game has so much money, there are billions and billions invested in it and sloshing around the game. Yet a lot of the people making these kind of decisions seem to be the type that would not trust running a tuck shop.

To be honest it makes me care even less about the game and in a way you reap what you sow, and if you are mostly interested in money and not the advancement of the sport then this is what you will end up with, your major tournament going to who has the most money. Much like most major trophies do nowadays anyway.

Read somewhere earlier that as part of the bidding process they had to waive any right to sue FIFA so if they get it taken away they have no comeback. Possibly.

This says all you need to know about Blatter - the man has made fortunes from back handlers and fully expect him to have got himself a nice sum from Qatar and Russia

I agree, he's a far to power hungry.

Japan and South Korean, South Africa and Brazil won bids when the countries either weren't was realistically in a position to host or had no need for the venues just to keep him in power.

Its no surprise that the majority of African nations and Asian nations are showing him support now.

The South African legacy has become a joke and Brazil can't even get everything ready in time!

i hope the revise goes to Australia, if spreading it round the world is really the cause of the wc the it shouldn't be back in USA yet.
