Played the November medal today.. It was very very windy - ball dropping off tee, ball moving before putt windy... Also the wind chill kicked in and had to use hand warmers.

But my problems were more on the ground rather than in the air... 3 putted at least 6 times.. Couple of 4 putts and a 5 putt!!! At one point my playing partner asked me if I had changed my putter.

57 going out (20 over) and finished at 117 ... On the 18th Par 3, had a NR as I cud not find the ball and had to drop another and lost that too!!!! All my playing partners were similar handicap And pensioners and all of them managed to stay in double figures..

I hate this game.. For that reason I am out

Dont beat yourself up too badly mate. The golfing gods have a way of bringing us all back down to earth at some point. You'll be back next week with a corker !!

Played yesterday in an Open Stableford at a different course to my own... Similar track but very high winds and rain i thought was going to crucify me..... Shot 35 points........ played steady given the conditions... Gear soaked to the bone......

Today at my own course i thought we were in for more of the same....... Little to no wind, course in decent condition given the weather.... No rain and 4BBB format....... Myself and my Dad shot 35 points between us off 3/4 handicap.......

I f i had someone elses hands i dont think i could have got the ball in the hole.... Putting was all over the shop..... My driving wasnt bad and i hit some decent iron shots but the majority were pish poor.......

Just Blame the weather...... You cant go from an 18 handicap to a 36 handicap in just one round....... everyone has bad days.....

Personally I think that a medal, in November, is madness. So don't beat yourself up, most of the rest of us are playing stableford or winter leagues by now and don't have the necessity to keep battering our heads against the wall with poor conditions!

Jesus wept, I thought I was bad......

Only kidding, I've been there on more than one occasion and I am sure most proper golfers have. Chin up and just play a round for fun.

Stick with it. Put it down to a bad day and poor conditions and let it go. Putting needs looking at though as a 5 putt is criminal at any level. Is it distance control, reading the putt or just bad technique

All of the above... Trice missed from under 3 feet.. that kind of sums it up. But on the 17th, holed a 15 footer from no where - glad it was the 8th shot.

Our course is generally in good nick. However given the rain, cold, wind and occassional sun, the green was very unpredictable. Fast in places and spongy in a few

Shot of the day... 3 foot putt... decent stroke.. lipped around and came to rest on the other side, but then the wind blew it back into the hole!!! Could not make it up even if I tried..

Wind chill ? It was lovely in Hampshire today, sunny bit of a breeze, but nothing to worry about. Perhaps a week in Scotland has hardened me.

Sorry to hear your woes.

not a bit of it .. quite nice up here 6-7 deg but a north wind, which usually brings the cold to these parts.

Played in a local cricket clubs, golf day yesterday around Fortrose.

38 points off scratch.;)

Can I have first dibs your putter :D

What do you think of the bunker work they're doing at F&R? Looking forward to trying out the new back tees next year. Played it last weekend, and shot 68 with a penalty drop and a couple of three putts. Pretty easy off the winter tees even with a breeze!

Shrug it off as one bad round. Nothing to worry about and you'll smash it next time you are out!

I think I shot 124 in a medal in the pouring rain once. It was so bad that the hooter went just as I was walking off of the 18th green to signal that the course was closing because the greens were flooded.

It ended up being reduction only, so I didn't get my well deserved 0.1 back ;) :D
