As an indication. How many putts per round make a someone a "Good putter"???

I consider myself a good putter but yesterday took 30 putts (Over 18 holes) with 6, 1 putts and no 3 putts. Played to my handicap but off the tee I was terrible and only my scrambling and short game kept me shooting a cricket score.

I have no idea if this is good or not (30 P.P.R)

Is P.P.R a good indicator to track your progress?

Lots of ways to analyse putting.

Stats like P.P.R, P.P.G.I.R and footage holed can all help provide you with the info you want to help analyse your game.

30 is good but it really depends how many GIR you're hitting. Personally I'd take 34 putts if I was hitting a lot of greens. Unfortunately at the moment I'm taking 35-36 putts because my short game is woeful.

I calc (PPR - GIR) and hope to get to low 20s on most courses.

It means a 1 putt having 'just missed Green' counts same as 2-putt a foot or so closer. And up&down gets appropriate credit too. Yesterday's 34-6=28 was rather disappointing!

There are other ways but the hassle involved is considerable.

If you miss 18 greens and chip close u could have 18 putts looks great but is really not. If you take 2 putts for each green you hit and 1 for each you miss and use that as your par. if you are within a couple of that you have had a good putting day. example if you hit 9 greens on average your par would be 27 so 30 putts a round would be good. If you hit 15 then 33 would be par so 34/35 would be great.
That's the way i look at it.

Off 9, 27 is 'standard' but I aim for lower - to get lower for a start, but an odd blunder hole happens occasionally too. Chipping is not a strength, though putting is, so low 20s is target. 18 would be great; 20 my best.

Most Tour Professionals would bite your hand off for 27 putts per round.
As handicap golfers anything lower than 30 is fantastic
But it depends on how many greens you hit as has been said.
Last Friday I hit 29 putts having hit 10 GIR - I'd take that as a good day at the office.

I usually take as many putts as I need :)

I have never really tracked my stats, just focused on replaying my best shots in my head after the end of a round.

According to SS2 I'm averaging 31.6 putts per round this year. I guess it depends on how many times you are getting up and down though. Hit a lot of GIR and two putt (i.e. 34-36 putts) looks worse than missing greens and getting up and down.
