Has anyone got a video of a yipper in action?
Having had the yips myself, I would say that is rubbish! Your mind/brain tries to make a nice smooth putting stroke, but your body does something else. The yips can affect other sports that require some degree of precision, and also musicians, especially pianists and guitar players. It is only well learned and almost automatic skills that are affected by them, which is why beginners and less experienced players never have them. They may be caused by some sort of neurological breakdown. The best advice is to learn a new method of putting, such as Claw Grip.Read "putting out of your mind" by Bob rotella. He's says that yips don't exist, anywhere but in the mind, and you can train yourself to get rid of them!
Delc - have you read the book? He seems to have a lot of pros who value his ideas, and his results are pretty impressive...........

You should know by now that delc never answers a question.I'll take that as a "no" then.....
That being the case, why do so many senior pro golfers have unconventional putting styles? If it was that easy to cure the yips they would still be putting conventionally!![]()
The only thing you need to get the yips is a lot of exposure to the pressures of putting. Tour pros do much more real and practice putting than most amateur golfers and are therefore more prone to getting the yips at an earlier age. Further examples include Bernhardt Langer, Sam Torrance, and Adam Scott. Historically, Harry Vardon, Sam Snead, Gene Sarazen and Ben Hogan all got them by early middle age, often when they were still superb ball strikers.Nothing to do solely with seniors. Why do you have to play the "senior" card in every thread. Have you not seen Garcia, Mickleson etc all play with some bizarre grips over the years
