Putting out in sweeps?

Just curious if you are made to putt out in your normal sweep?

Talking about groups of 12 plus and not just a bounce 4ball with your mates.

That's my thoughts too although it doesn't happen in my group. Just trying to find out what others do.

Gimmes are given, not my preference but thats the way it is, haven't seen the piss taken yet though so there is that.

Normally a gimmie inside a putter grip I.E. 12 inches, but only in casual sweeps just to keep things moving.

We also have a more serious formal swindle and that's putt out everything.

Using a standard length putter (head goes in the hole!), anything on the steel is a gimmie :thup:

most of ours are 4 ball and 3 ball team betterball and Russian stableford so gimmes inside the putter, unless its a game winthin the fourball

our sweeps have a card in hand ,and that means no gimmees .
whats the point of the card if you are giving people freebies

We use common sense a judgement and give sensible gimmies and trust each other

Giving gimmies during swindles and sweeps helps with pace of play

I don't think it saves that much time across 18holes, 10minutes max??

If it's a gimme then it's got to be a tap in Shirley? 10 secs a tap in x 4 x18 holes isn't going to be an awful lot of time.

Only my opinion but any game where there's money/prizes given, Gimmies are a no no.

The problem is people don't just tap in - they mark it then line it up from all angles again

It all adds up - we have no issues with gimmies because we know everyone gives the same type of putts

No wonder slow play is rife if players are lining up 6" Gimmies.:rofl:
