So, for all those that got to witness it during the recent meet in Kent. My putting is atrocious!

I believe I can read them well, but under pressure the stroke is shocking.

Spent all week practicing and seemed to have it down, watching the ball line rotate consistently.

Went out with the society today and had 46 putts! Went round in 92 which in regards to handicap (18) shows clearly where my biggest issue is.

I know total putts isn't always conclusive as some could be chipped close etc when getting low numbers. But I consistently took 3 putts from 15/20ft.

So, if anyone in Kent. Or anywhere really, can recommend a putting coach who has actually improved your game. Let me know! Ideally with Sam puttlab as I am a bit of a stato.

Thanks!

gotta be frustrating! is the issue line or length or both? different solution depending on which is the only/main problem, good luck finding a decent lesson option!

Generally line. Is the key one for me. I'll know where to aim it. Then push or pull with equal frequency. So it'll be short if I go to far up the hill, or long if pull it as it runs with the break.

i then have issues over hitting it or under hitting it if I've had a succession of just pulls or pushes......

today i think I only holed 3 putts over 2 foot, and 2 were 20 plus.

Dave isn't there some putting place down your way. For the life of me I can't remember the name but I am sure it's quite well known

Theres one in Ashford that's popped up on google that I'll be contacting soon if no personal recommendations.

Seems s to be reasonable prices and good facilities. It can't bloody hurt my game to have a little lesson with anyone tbf!

How frustrating is it not being able to putt?! should be the easiest part of the game, yet I'm bleeding useless.

Like you, I'm gonna take more interest. Might even count them up to see how bad it really is. It's not like I have an excuse, there's a Harold Swash centre 20mins up the road

best of luck

Weight is the most important part of putting. You can miss the hole by 1/8 " and be five feet past leaving a five foot return. You can be a foot wide but with the correct weight and only have a foot put to make.

This video shows a great way to consider putting, I recommend it strongly:

Are you a wristy putter and do you putt with your elbows tucked in to your body or sticking out to the side?

Honestly.

I have no real technique at all.

I bought a bigger grip grip to stop being wristy and tried tucking my elbows in and felt it was working in practice, but once it goes wrong during a round I have no confidence in a technique.

Get to a SAM Lab. A real eye opener and a little scary seeing your stroke dissected like that. I hope the OP gets someone to help him. It's frustrating doing the hard wort to get it on the green and then never threaten the hole for birdie or par
