Putting Aids

'Putting Alley' device - i really like this.

I've also tried the balls with a ridge on but are a bit of a pita to keep lining them up for each practice putt.

Two tee pegs in the ground, that's it. Not a fan of putting gadgets, you can get too wrapped up in them and you don't see them out on the course.

I use 4 - to ensure the swing path is as I want too.

Nothing wrong with (simple) practice gadgets though. Their description could also hint at why they are not found on the course - as well as being against RoG to use there.

What is your opinion on the mirrors Bob?

Whilst considered technically correct, getting the eyes over the ball and everything square to the line is not the best for everyone? There are plenty of great putters who stood open or had their head away from the line.

I also struggle with the Gary Player advice of head still listening for ball to drop. It makes me feel like the stroke goes left and I pull everything. Eyes follow the ball feels more comfortable and productive for me

If it helps then use it.
I'm not a great fan though.
If the arms hung straight down from the shoulders then perhaps having the eyes over the ball may help as that would encourage a straight back straight through swing.
However, there is an angle, preferably at the elbow which means there's more likely to be slight arc to the swing.

As long as the golfer can present the putter face and swing path to the ball in a consistent manner I'm not fussed how they do it.
I do know however that the fewer moving parts you have when putting, the easier it is to be more consistent.
