I'm thinking of renewing my putter as the one I'm using came out the arc and wouldn't even be worth regripping... Putting isn't my strongest point and tend to nick the ground with longer soled putters, any recommendations for easy to use putters?

Problem is there aren't many places around me that I can try a range of putters on a real green, I'm really unsure to be honest and was aiming for around the £65 - £75 mark?! Surely I could get something decent or really good second hand for that?

Try as many variations as you can on a real green with decent balls.

You won't need advice, you'll instantly know when you have the right putter

this is the only answer you'll need.

Putting is as individualistic as handwriting.

yes you will for that price, South Lanarkshire has lots of golf clubs with putting greens, or go to AG in Clydebank who have a massive range of putters and a real green outside..............and theres Jurassic Parr for the kids if you have any and a coffee shop for SWMBO:whistle:

so much for my last post:rofl:

Quick question CMAC, don't want to go off topic, would you say the AG in Clydebank is bigger or better stocked than the one in EK?

Is that up great western road? I'm sure I've been in there before its about 30 mile from me but if it got me the right putter and saved my short game I would go!! Got a little one too but she's only 8 months old and not holding a club yet haha!! Misses might be kept out the way with some tea and cake though :D

I'm currently looking for one and on my hit list are...

Odyssey 2 ball
Odyssey No.7
Scotty Cameron 1.5 (BLK/RED)

The problem is that the 2 Odysseys come in many different varieties and i can't find a Scotty to try... I will not be buying a putter based on a few putts on one of AG's dodgy putting greens.

Interesting I too picked up a no 7 recently fitted with a fatso grip, one practice stroke and had to stick it back before it got expensive!

good question- I think they are the same, both are large and both have a big range of putters and clubs overall.
Good shout with EK though as they have access to the real green outside as well for practice putts.

Are you a back and through putter or more of an arc, square arc as this "may" make a difference. I know players that use putters not designed for their stroke with great aplomb so it isn't hard and fast rule but matching to your stroke may help

I think half of the tour players are using number 7's now and it's the one out of the Odysseys that I want to be the one :mmm:

thats the one, but as c1973 reminded me the EK one is just as big and closer to you

I can't recommend the no 7 enough. Has improved my lag putting and really helped from 8ft in

I think it looks rank myself. Too busy to look down on.

But, that's why it's best to get your hands on the putter beifre you buy it. As CMAC says, putting is very individual.

I have a centre shaft putter (Odyssey White Hot Pro 2CS) so I know nothing about good looking putters :D

The 2CS isn't a bad looking putter. The metal X 7 is the better looking out of all of them for me but that's just personal choice, as long as it works!
