I kind of fell for the Scotty Cameron Newport 2.5 today. Unfortunately, no way I can justify £250 for a flatstick. So the question is, what is a similar Anser style putter with generous toe flow, like the 2.5, for a more modest wallet bruising?

Ta.

What is toe flow? toe hang?

same thing basically. because of the way we stand ball in front on the ground our anatomy plus the design angles of a putter. a putter head will move naturally in an arc. {unless the stroke movement is manipulated}

the toe flow will help keep the face square to the arc of the stroke. folks height, posture, putter length will give folks different degrees of an arc stroke. so some folks would benefit from more toe flow to keep the face square to the arc of the stroke some folks less toe flow.

Thanks for the suggestions, and The_coach for toe flow explanation.

I'll check out some of the suggestions but from what I can see none have the hozel design of the 2.5, which is very short rather than the normal Anser style neck.

That Yes looks pretty close, as do the Anser 4 and 6, but I can't see that they make them anymore other than in the milled (which are pricey too).

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll do some browsing for one of the Ansers and if no joy might take a punt on the Yes, but I'm a bit put off by the grooves on them and having read they can be unpredictable when it's wet.

, but I'm a bit put off by the grooves on them and having read they can be unpredictable when it's wet.

I had a Yes putter before my scotty, no issue with grooves in the wet (sounds like an excuse to me!) as if anything grooves should help, think about every other club in bag, grooves=displaced water so 'normal' contact with ball.

If you want the best get the scotty. Folks spend hundreds on drivers every year yet baulk at the price of putters. You will use your putter more than any other club, why compromise

Is Scotty the best then ?

As with most clubs it will surely be dependant on personal preference - I have tried a few Scotty putters and found them no different to the Ping Anser yet double the price ?

Just buy the Scotty. It's the most used club in the bag yet people aren't willing to spend money on it :confused: I wouldn't be without mine, I've had other less expensive makes in the past but nothing as nice as this. Of course, it's just my opinion but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another when the time comes.

Got an odessey versa 7 tank last week, And it has changed my life - am thinking about leaving my wife and moving in with it. I've gone from hating putting to literally skipping to the green I'm that excited about using it.....
