Sold yet another putter on t'eBay last night and noticed in my history have sold 4 in he last 12 months

Now trying to stick with one after sorting out a few technical / mental problems.

90% happy and had some good results last weekend, only thing missing is the occasional tendency to get a but handsy.

Am thinking about the smallest Superstroke grip but have tried a few of the bigger ones, on previously mentioned putters, and they've felt like they drastically reduce feel.

Question is....

Does anyone know any way to try one without shelling to have one out on and roadtesting? Don't want to go backwards when is starting to make progress from, what was only a few weeks ago, a dire situation!

Can't help here. On my 3rd since I started playing in about 2003ish. Looking at a 4 next summer as I am going to treat myself to a scotty

See what putters people have on the naughty step. You may get the chance to try some at a cost of postage.

Why a Scotty?

There are numerous other putters out there better than a Scotty. The mass produced Scotty Cameron putters are no better than Ping or TM.

A lot of Odyssey putters have them as standard, maybe have a knock with one in the pro shop and try and gauge it from there......

**Edit** please don't buy it, just try ;)

Bought the new Versa a few months ago on that basis. Superstroke 3.0 as standard, mustard in the shop, couldn't feel a thing on real greens.

We had a day out @ Silloth but the relationship ended horribly and it was on eBay the day after

What I'd like to do is try a the ultraSlim1.0 or Flatso1.0, on my putter, on real greens.

Mate. Three? Since 2003? One every four years?

Would love that kind of stability!

Aye started with a Ben Ross, then moved to a Taylormade derossa, and now a Ping Karsten with the versa for a few weeks and returned back to the Ping.

With my bad putts I blame the puttee not the putter. I must admit I'm not a club changer as I have just changed my irons after 10 years!

Mate had the smallest super stroke grip on a putter tonight. I am not the biggest fan of it. far to slim for my liking.

Too easy to twist when its that thin.

Why not?

I just remembered I had an odyssey versa for a short time that I managed to punt on. If the spotty don't work I can always shift it too.

Basically because your deciding on a preconceived idea. If you've had that little putters then why have you decided that a Scotty is the way to go?

Radius, Bettinardi, Ping Milled, Odyssey milled, all every bit as good. Think outside the box. What is your putter swing path, are you better with a blade or a mallet, length of shaft, putter loft?

A decent putter fitting could save you a lot of guessing.

Basically you are the one with the preconceived idea that I haven't tried other putters but thanks for the advice. :D

I've only had one proper putter. Bought it as it felt nice in the shop.

I think my stroke has grown to fit the putter rather than the putter fitting my stroke. I can't imagine putting with anything else.

Give it a chance for you to adjust your stroke too it while practising, having lessons and using tools and drills to ensure you both work together in the right way.

My putter is a ping zing, very heavy toe but I think I hardly go in to out much as the toe weight keeps my good on my straight back and through instead.

Ive been struggleing with my Odyssey Putter with a thick grip this year so have bought a very old Ping Zing
Putter off ebay for next to nothing. Has made a massive difference so much more feel. going to get the thick grip removed
from my odyssey.

Zings are great, just don't try to swing in to out, just swing back and through as normal and let the club do the work.

Got an odyssey with the SS grip on. Made a big difference. Funnily enough I'd fitted and odyssey jumbo grip to my #9 but wasn't sure it was working (and had a hankering to go back to an Anser). The smaller SS feels better in my hand

I have the SS 1.0 Ultra-slim on my Yes! Tracey... started off well, but hating it now and considering going up a size to the 1.5 or possibly even the 2.0 .... had a go with my mate's 3.0 which felt like i was holding a broom handle.

I switched to a ss 1.0 ultra slim from a standard grip on my scotty.
It's still fatter than a pistol grip, I found it took out the 'handsy' tendencies and I really like it. I would recommend getting it on, worst case is you don't get on with it then replace it with something else...

Ah, putters. I could easily use a new one every week, if they didn't cost so much!
