Just saw this pop up on my Facebook feed. Had a look at the video, interesting concept. Not sure how confident it would make me hitting straight at the hole knowing it should break according to where I hit it..... I kind of like trying to guess the roll etc. Would this detract from the game or could it really be a game changer?

thoughts?

Used to play a bit with a low handicapper that used to try and slice some putts to reduce the break on big sloped greens. Was great to watch, and practise, but rarely ever used it serious games.

This is utter nonsense. You will not be putting spin on a ball that has meaningful effect on short puts. The only possible change here is the initial direction of travel changing if the shaft does indeed twist, it would need to be very twisty. Also i'd rather aim and put straight rather than changing my angle of attack on every put. He's a crazy man.

I can't see it being banned because it's such a ridiculous concept!

It's much easier to allow for break than to try and hit the ball off centre on the putter face so that it starts off on the direction needed for the break.
A 6 foot putt with 6 inches of break, hmm, that'll be 3/4" left of centre then.....

Suppose you have 8 feet of break, how far away from centre of the putter would you need to hit the ball for it to start off 8 feet outside the hole?
My guess is outside of the putter head!

I'll be left behind thanks Pete.

A complete crock of brown stuff. Most people cannot hit the centre of the putter consistently so how are they going to manage to hit the toe or heel when they have to. Plus it looks minging.

What happens when people misread the green or mishit the putt? Pretty much the reason for most missed putts?
