Putter length for a lady golfer

There are no rules, whatever feels 'right' to her is the correct length. I think it was Barry Lane on tour used to use something like a 27" putter.

I think mine is 33"(or maybe 34") and I am about 6 foot, but still have my lowest hand fairly close to the bottom of the putter grip, so I could almost putt with a kids putter I reckon.

My wife uses my old 2 ball putter and didn't comment about it being short or long. And she at a guess 5ft 4.

Depends on a few things, but very basically, the style of the putter and the distance between hands and the floor. Tell her to just go find the one she likes and see which length sits best.

If you're not bothered (and she's not bothered) about looking a bit silly in the shop, take a simple plumb bob ( a nut on a string will do) and hold the top of the string next to her eye. When the nut stops swinging, that's where the ball should set up, so make sure the putter sets up to that.

Was actually thinking about this tonight so Googled shortest allowable putter and found it to be 18 inches.... is there anything in my thought that the closer you are to the floor the better control you'll have on pace and distance? Albeit ending up with Terrible back problems?

Ask Michelle Wie.

I remember someone on tour used to play a 20"(?) Putter for a time.
