Putter holder in bag or not?

There are a few threads knocking about bags. Some of them talk about having a putter holder. I use a Ogio Assassin bag that does not have a putter holder but has a 14 way divider. After I putt out, I just put the putter in the bag in its slot. I cant see the additional benefit of having a putter holder.

Am I missing something?

Nope, I always thought it would be a good idea to have a bag with a putter holder but the padding at the end keeps coming loose and fraying and it is sometimes hard to get the putter back in. It will not be on my list of priorities with the next bag I buy.

I think getting the putter holder fitted may be a good idea... esp if I try to put a broom putter into a regular bag... It would look like you are carrying a surfboard on top of your car...

After having one on my first Powakaddy cart bag, it was a must when I bought a new bag. Love the convenience the way it sits on the side waiting to be pulled out.

However the downside is as it's the most used club the padding does wear on the bag.

I have found that having an external putter well (I think that is the technical term) has improved my game hugely.

Actually my carry bag doesn't have one, so it is only the very rare occasion I use a trolley I get any benefit. Shouldn't all men have every gizmo/extra possible though.;)

My Carry bag doesnt have one and my putter was always getting jammed costing me time and valuable shots:rolleyes:

When I got my Mizuno cart bag with external putter holder I was suddenly free in mind and spirit, putts dropped from all over and my handicap tumbled. do it...DO IT......DO IT DO IT
