Improved it? I would say so. There is no guessing as to the alignment or anything now. Pick a spot, and hit it there. I went with Edel for my fitting, and I feel my putting is much better. The stats tend to say the same as well. I haven't gone to taking 20 putts per round, but taking 2-3 shots off by eliminating 3 putts/sinking birdie putts more often has certainly helped.
Feel like a fish rising to the bait here, but however :

Putter fitting !?!?!?
Is there no end to the 'fitting' craze ?
What next; computer analysis to determine the best tee type for your drive and what height to set it at. Distance measuring devices fitted with functions capable of setting tee height to 0.1mm to ensure you dont tee it up at a height that doesnt suit your swing characterisics. Are golfers the focus of a secret government experiment to see if there is no end to man's gullibility.
Going to make myself a cup of tea now while my mind boggles for a few minutes.
Yes and very useful for matching putter type to your putting stroke but ultimately it's not a magic wand and you only get out (in my experience) and so practice is perhaps more important
I did the Callaway/Odessey fitting for GM on here 6 or so weeks ago and my new putter has just arrived, hoping to get out on the course with it this week and do a little write up! well worth it.
Yes. I am a new player still on a borrowed set of clubs which included a 40 yr old putter (rest of clubs 20yr old Ping G2s). I also tried the putter now used by the mate who loaned me clubs and realised there was a massive difference in feel. So decided to buy a putter and was fitted for it. Useful because apart from knowing I liked using the newer one better I had no idea what to buy. Interestingly, after trying many and being observed with them then narrowing down right weight, length, grip etc I ended up being recommended to use the same one my mate now has - without me even mentioning it to the Pro! I now have great confidence in it which in itself helps I think and after putting in ( no pun intended) a good few hours practise with it it's definitely making a huge difference.
