Putts over the 1st 3 rounds at Augusta...

Westwood - 98
Mickleson - 77

That doesn't tell the whole story as Lee has hit 12 more greens but does add weight to the argument that Lee's putting isn't good enough

Does it?

Or is he not hitting irons close enough??

As it happens, I agree, his putting is very streaky at best for a player at the very top level.

his putting and general short game is poor. no matter how good he is tee to green,
you never fancy him to get up and down or hole out well. you can see as the weekend has
went on his putting has got worse.

Stats don't quite tell full story westys putting cost him the tournement but were micklesons figs not distorted by missed greens and top draw chips stone dead.

im starting to look at putts from behind the hole now this last two rounds ive played. i havnt putted any better but you see the line much easier by looking from both sides. i should have started doing this earlier!

Westy's figures aren't that bad, the stats distort the truth (as mentioned above with GIR etc) but he does miss far too many in the sub 10ft range.... that said, if he made just one extra putt per round he'd probably have 6 majors already!... so he can't be THAT bad... can he?

I'd swap golf careers for sure... and try to win a major just because it's fun to try, to play the course, and see what you can achieve... I wouldn't cry about it that's for sure.
