So watching Sky and they have just mentioned a Longest drive comp during practice at PGA.

Won with a distance of 325 yards.

And yet there are Club golfers on here regularly claming they drive that...?:clap:

I feel the same mate all I can say is if they hit it longer than a tour player then there short game must be abismal. And the courses we play on are a good bit shorter.

weve just had a rash of threads telling us the game is easier and the ball goes much longer these days, everyone cant be wrong.

Pros are not super human as lots seem to make out on here. If a club golfer has a good swing and reasonable strength/ speed why is it so hard to believe they can hit is as far as a pro if they find the sweet spot? Obviously a pro will do this far more consistently that's why they are getting paid but the notion no 'mortal' man should get anywhere near a pro is laughable. Not all the longest drive boys are pros so why can they out drive them?

Well the long drive guys are still extremely low HC top amateurs or even ex pros or pros on minor tours

It is very rare for club golfers to reach the distances the pros do with the accuracy they also hit it with

I only know one guy who reaches 300 yards on regular occurence then some people have the odd drive out there ( like myself ) but all the conditions must be favourable

Yes and there are low handicap golfers posting on here and it's not like everyone spouts they can hit the ball 325 yards, very rare I would say so this fits your conclusion. Glad we agree:thup:

When it comes to driving distances being mentioned on here a great deal more suggest they drive over 300 yards on a regular occurrence and it's not the low HC guys
