I have spent the day using trains, both overground and tube and I've had it up to the neck with pillocks and their pull-along luggage.

So said users of these contrivances of Beelzebub. If you must use them can you please do me a favour.

LOOK WHERE YOU'RE FLAMING WELL GOING WITH THEM!!!!!!!!!!

You are confounded nuisances, what with tripping people, cutting them up as you turn tight corners and generally bashing into innocent fellow travellers oblivious to the mayhem you leave in your wake.👀

Thank you for your kind attention and let's have less of it in future!

*and breathe*

and how do you travel with lots of stuff? manservant? send your luggage onwards to be there when you arrive?

The problem is in you were in London. Elsewhere people take care with their pull bags/luggage etc. In London it is simply too busy, too many people so general social rules go out of the window. Stay away and keep calm.

I don't think I'd be cross with people who have full size suitcases....but those small wheeled cases/briefcases on wheels drive me made. IMO man up and carry the damn thing.

When forced to use the wretched things I pay attention and show a degree of good manners to my fellow travellers.

Good manners and a modicum of awareness that others are following behind me are my watchwords.

Although now that you've mentioned it a manservant does sound like a plan. I will perhaps ring the agency and see what might be arranged.

Toodle-oo Old Bean!

This and the smart phone thread just says that people need to relax a bit more and not let the small things worry them

And when you see how many golf trolleys mill around the door to the pro shop and by the first tee... its like a remake of Ben Hur!

Hang on whilst I have a good foot stamp - THUD - ah, Bisto!!

Plenty of these to negotiate at the station each day and to be fair the large proportion of users do look where they are going and even behind them as they turn or stop. In London in confined spaces at tube and railway stations I can see how it's an issue (especially some overseas visitors but that's another rant altogether!!) but with so many in such a small space live and let live, get from A to B ans quickly and efficiently as you can and relax

Years back there was some nob pushing his way down the Underground towards me and I saw him knock two or three people out of the way with his bags etc in his hurry. So I casually pushed my Samsonite case out just a little too far and got him right on the kneecap. He went down like a sack of spuds. And moving along with the crowd, I was round the corner and away from the scene of the crime before he'd even stopped twitching. Woman behind me was laughing herself silly on the platform a minute later saying she had wished she had done the same thing to the obnoxious toad.

Forget Hedgehog wheels.
I'm fitting scythe blades to mine...

If you can't afford a manservant you could always send the wife/partner on ahead with the luggage. hat and coat on I think.

Far too dangerous! HID sets off from the luggage carousel at Naples airport, and promptly goes straight over the foot of a guy in uniform carrying a sub machine gun. He seemed a tad miffed...
