How full are the published results of competitions at your club? At our club, there are competitions most weekends throughout the year; the prize winners (usually the top five individuals or pairs) appear on the notice board but nothing else. Detailed individual results sometimes find their way onto HowDidiDo, but not always. I believe that everyone who pays for and enters a competition deserves to know where they finished. Am I being too demanding? Do golfers not care about their overall position once they have handed in their card?

Usually ours are on HDID by the tuesday eve following the Sunday comp, although typically in a week when I played well and am keen to see how I did, the result hasnt gone up yet!

I believe you are right to want to see your results.
At our club we have 2 results secretarys.
The seniors results go on HDIDO by the next day.
The weekend results much slower.
Saying that the amount of people that go in them, sometimes I wonder why I bother.

Full results go on the board (then into the comp results folder which is always available by the comps board). Also all individual comps are on HDID too

Full results are on our club website shortly after close of play, handicap adjustments take a little longer but not much. You can even check who's 'leading in the clubhouse' during the comp using the same system. We don't use HDID at all.

Full results are pinned on the Board in the clubhouse within 48 hrs, usually less.

Ours are all on the masterscoreboard website the same day....

Usually on HDID the day after. If it's a comp over several days they come out two days later. All results always in the clubhouse and main events usually on the website too. Finding I'm mid table anonymity isn't hard to do

If I haven't won a prize I don't care where I place. As long as the result is put on golfnet and handicap adjusted accordingly I'm happy.

you can get a check of current position on our software after entering your score, the full results are posted on the board at the club and on the website by Monday for a Saturday comp.

I happened to mention to our club pro that I enjoyed being able to see the "leaderboard" on the scores computer throughout the day. He told me this was not correct and should be removed (as indeed it subsequently was). His thinking is that people won't play if they see a leading score they can't beat. Apparently, such people exist!

We aim to post comp results on the noticeboard by 13:00 day after any comp and usually do so. Also published on Master Scoreboard (Handicapmaster) at same time.

Fully agree that members should expect a much better level of service than you describe and I'd complain or at least ask what the reasons are. The committee are IMHO simply not doing their job.....golf is after all the main object of a golf club and I'd say publishing the scores should be pretty high up the list of priorities so what else don't they do well?

As for leaderboards, we don't show ours until tea-time in the bar (it is configurable not just on/off). Not because it would affect entries necessarily but because it just isn't nice to sign in at say 1 o'clock to see there are already 2 62's and a 63 in the clubhouse. Can demoralise you before you even get going when it should take much longer than that :)

I think this is a happy medium. Will make a suggestion to one of the old timers on the committee!
