So I went along to my local Nevada Bobs today to hit an array of irons to see if they offer me much more than what my current Amps do. Distance wise, nothing in it at all, or not enough to justify forking out anyway. Dispersion wise, the PSI's blew me away, the I series were decent but the PSI's stole the show for me. Also hit the XR Pro's and AP1/2's.

The problem I had was that the stock shafts in both regular and stiff were launching way too high so I really need to go and get properly fitted, somewhere that has a vast array of shafts to choose from. The guy at the shop phoned through to TM who told him that a fitting at Wentworth would be £200!!!!!!! Sod that!

Are there any other fitting centres around the south east that would offer such a service?

Silvermere have a decent amount of shafts and I think the fitting is £60 of which you get £40 back off the price of the irons if you buy through them.

If you want and even more thorough fitting you could try precision golf in Byfleet which I've heard is very good but can be a bit pricey.

My dad bought PSI irons after a fitting at Silvermere a couple of weeks back. He naturally hits the ball VERY high, and said the fitter tried loads of shafts out for him until he found the right one. Do it!

Definitely recommend Silvermere. That's where I was fitted for my Yonex irons. A very impressive facility with the biggest well stocked golf shop.

Although you're right, Hylands is definitely closer, but not quite as impressive.
