Just a quick one, fairly specific to those golfers in Glos (preferably around Cheltenham).

Just looking for a bit of feedback on any teaching pros that you recommend. I used the head pro at brickhampton for a couple of lessons, and didn't really feel like it clicked, so thought it might be worthwhile seeing who else is out there....

I imagine this won't apply to 99% of the forum, so even a couple of replies would be awesome!

Perhaps a little too far, but I can recommend Jeremy Dale. He is based at Heythrop Park near Chipping Norton.

Cheers for the input, I will definitely look into each of these!

Has anyone any feedback on Nick Ellis at Naunton, or Simon Harrison at Lilleybrook? Both appear to be using the same style website, looks very professional, but not heard any reviews of them..

Alex at brickhampton is good and well priced and works at the range there and also the shop in barnwood.
I use the pro up my club (cotswold hills) and other than the fact I get on well with him anyway, using proper golf balls on a grass range is far better than range balls and matts for me. Lilly brook is also on grass or at least was last time I used the range there. Tim hall at Ross on wye is also very good and does his lessons with the aid of a GC2 launch monitor.

Lewis,

I've already recommended Damien Brooks to you, have you not spoken with him? Don't be put off by the fact that he's Asst. Pro, he knows what he's talking about and is good to get on with.

Noel is only occassionally at Brickhampton and he also runs Shipton P&P Course.

I've met Simon Harrison at Lilley Brook and he's a nice chap, but no experience of his lessons.

I really don't understand why you would be looking at going to a pro at a different course when you are a member of Brickhampton.

Hi HDA

I have had a chat with him, I actually met him outside of the golf course through my gym! He does seem like a decent guy, so I am considering him as well! I probably am being a bit silly by writing him off a little due to the assistant pro thing, I should look past that!

With regards the pro/course, it's mainly because I don't always feel the two should go hand in hand! Just because I like the course, if there is a better pro for me out there, I would rather see them. And because I am probably moving over to Naunton at the end of the month, so that would affect that as well if I was tied in!

Contact Tim Morgan at Dymock Grange Golf Club. He is a really down to earth Pro that will help you what ever your standard.

Moving to Naunton? That'll put your travel expenses up a bit. I've considered it due to the flexible membership option, but the travel time has put me off.

Not too much, it's only 10 miles for me, as opposed to 6 to brickie. And with the traffic getting out there after work, not too disimilair time! I mainly fancied the practice areas at Naunton, nice to have somewhere to practice chipping!
