I have been looking for a pair of lighter shoes and last week decided to buy a pair of the 6 spike Adizeros. Early signs were good, very light and comfortable but I noticed a problem when I took them off. It seems that after only 18 holes there is already signs of pretty heavy wear to the lining in the heal to such an extent that I reckon that it will be worn though after a couple more rounds.

To say that I am not impressed is an understatement. To make matters worse, the retailer has not been the most helpful. I emailed them at the weekend with the problem and they replied that they would have to check with their returns department and Adidas to see if it was a known fault but I should just use them and claim under the one year warranty of the lining wore through. I then emailed some pictures and their response was that they would send them to Adidas for their comments. I kindly pointed out that my contract was with them and not the manufacturer and they came back with a comment that they would check with their returns department but thought that this was normal wear and tear and may not be able to do anything. Waiting on a further response but this could be another retailer off my 'recommended' list.

I've had such issues with most Adidas shoes although wore a pair all winter and they still look in good shape. Not sure what it is in their shape that causes the inner heel lining to wear.

Adizero provide a second inner lining I believe, is it this thats wearing or underneath that?

You have the Sale of Goods Act on your side as well as the manufacturer's warranty. Your contract for the sle is with the retailer.

Your problems can be caused by wearing the wrong size, so says my sister who knows about these things :)

I have always found the.sole liner in addidas shoes is too soft and bouncy. This allows my foot too much movement, and I wear the heal out. I normally.swap the liner for a different one.

After the ATV's heel failing after a few rounds I would never buy Addidas shoes again. Still have the replacement pair in the box brand new lol. Ill get six rounds out of them soon I suppose

I started a thread recently on my adizero's failing after a few weeks, never again.
Had problems with 4 pairs of tour 360's,I have to say direct golf at Doncaster have been fantastic.

It would seem there a lot of people having problems with adizero's. The bonding between the upper and sole seems to be failing.

indeed; wise words....

there's also more to 'right size' than simply length and width fitting, all of which will have a significant impact on ensuring flex where it's designed to flex and the consequences.

one of those fitted (properly) for these shoes made a significant comment about how they were amazed at what constituted the correct fitting (size) for them. jimbob.s?

Totally agree with this and actually tweeted FJ to see if there was any way to be properly fitted like those picked by GM. Sadly they could only suggest going to my pro and trying shoes on.

Any company has a right to return goods to the manufacturer for an "expert opinion" at there own expense. They have to be allowed a reasonable time for this. Your contract is with the shop but if adidas say it is not a fault and it was damage caused by you you will have a problem. If it's a fault the company will replace.

This is the same with any goods you buy

True but where is the argument that the lining in a pair of shoes should wear through in 2 rounds.

There's useful (although hardly revolutionary) advice on FJ's website about shoe fitting.

FWIW, my 6 Spikes are demonstrating very little wear after maybe a dozen rounds. I alternate them with other shoes so they're not getting constant use. I tend to go for them if the weather is a little inclement as they're so easy to clean.

Sorry wasn't implying there was one... Just that they have a right to seek advice.... I have had it done with computer components in the past to make sure I hadn't blown them... For shoes it seems a bit silly

Much as I love the look of the Adizero there has been enough issues on here to finally persuade me that it is too much of a lottery. I think if I want to go down the lightweight summer shoe line then the M Project by FJ will be my first port of call.

Seriously custom fitting for shoes???? If you usually take a 9,try a 9. if that feels too big try a 8. Surely you don't need a Pro to tell you this.

I'm on my 2nd pair of ATV Tour 360s and the lining of the heel is wearing again. I returned my last pair to American Golf because the heel lining had worn, now the 2nd pair is doing the same! The lining in the heel is almost worn completely away and I must have worn them about a dozen times! Really not good! I think I am going to contact Adidas about them because I'm sure the guys at American Golf will hate me if I go back in again!
