Just seen this posted on Facebook. Can any of our Scottish forummers confirm if this is a reputable news source......

An example of when PFI goes very wrong. No idea if this will be blamed on the Westminster government or whether it comes down to the Scottish government. But I suspect this sort of thing could become more common with private companies looking to maximise profit by building cheaply.

I’m not familiar with liveedinburghnews.org, but the story is accurate and verifiable from the Edinburgh City Council website which lists these closures as a precaution following the discover of further issues regarding the construction of the schools concerned.

The first indication of a problem was when some weeks ago a considerable amount of the cladding of the gable end of Oxgangs Primary School broke away during a high wind. It seems that the Council has uncovered further problems and is closing all the schools managed by the Edinburgh Schools Partnership.

This seems to have all the makings of a major scandal.
