apologies if this has been done before but been off-line for a bit.

theres a letter i believe in this months mag regarding these bals being stamped with practice.

i nearly bought some today for £25 a dozen rather than £44 in the end i didnt though,

but if these balls are the same as normal ProV 1s, why do they stamp practice on them :s

I think...

Its balls that have been used on the ranges at pro events so not brand new. But probably only hit once.

Perfectly legal for comps.

Not to be mistaken for X OUTS that are not legal

Titleist Pro V1/V1-X Practice Golf Balls... Brand New Titleist Pro V Golf Balls At A Greatly Reduced Price

The Titleist Pro V1/V1-X Practice golf balls are conforming products that differ only due to a cosmetic blemish such as paint, ink or registration of stamping. Pro V1/V1-X Practice golf balls do not have any construction or performance deficiencies.

Titleist Pro V1/V1-X Series Practice Golf Balls have some type of slight imperfection; most of which are not noticeable. These balls have slight cosmetic blemishes in the paint or finish of the ball which do not affect the performance of the golf balls. The Titleist Pro V1/V1-X Practice Golf Balls are used by many of the top pro's in the country for practice.

These balls are fully conforming for tournament play and are fully legal for play according to R & A Rules. Please note that each dozen contains a mix of Pro V1 balls and Pro V1-X balls, there is no option to choose which balls you receive. However this is still a great chance to own Titleist Pro V golf balls at a fraction of their normal cost.

Pro V1 Practice balls

I know many people who just black out the Practice on them, there are no different to normal except the cosmetic blemishes on them if any.

I reckon there are the same as normal 1s and its peeps like me that stamp practise on them there selfs and hope that when lost and found by other golfers they c the practise and leave them where they are!! :) And they next day you find it again :)
I squeak when i walk!!

Used them myself since before castle Stuart. I also heard they were the American balls that were pulled through some copyright issues in the states.
The White box of balls (still have a couple of the same dozen + the four free ones gotten at castle stuart 20 rounds later) I got didn't have a single blemish or Mark on any of them. Absolutly great value.

You pay £44 for ProVs? I bought a dozen on Tuesday at Nevada Bob's for £30 after I queried the price tag of £36. :D

Is this still the case? We played against a pair using an X-OUT the other day. I was going to say something but as we parred 8 holes in a row and left them for dust, I couldn't have cared if they were carrying illegal driver, balls, or using a skycaddie.

Nowt wrong with a cross out as long as it bears the manufacturers name.

Thanks for this. I was confusumbled. :D
You should be, he's wrong. "Practice" is fine, "XXXXX" outs are not.

They are X-outs becasue they failed the parameters allowed for in ball manufacture, and hence are not legal to use in competition.
