just been watching abu dhabu tournament & being a Luke Donald fan ,all the commentates ever talk about is that American chap tiger duds who wins now & then & that Irish kid Rory macllboy who lost that major with million shots in front

OK I'm being negative ,watching the three of them of the tee is great viewing to me Rory looks the most relaxed,,,tiger look like he's trying to hard, must have something to do with 3 million dollars appearance money ,, Luke needs to get a grip & tell himself why he is number 1 looks like a bag of nerves

brilliant golf TV :one:

well i like luke donald aswell but i was super excited to see them all together and tbh luke was not very great to watch in comparison to them today.he strugled quite a bit and if it wasn't his excellent short game skills he may have been a bit worse than what he finished.

Wull, it is those skills that have taken him to no.1.....Watch him keep plodding along, he doesn't doing smiling much.

if i was Luke's brother is caddy i would take him straight down to the bank ,get a Minni statement rub it in is eyes and say look you don't need the money ,just relax ,smile a bit & do what you do best ,,win Luke win (had to do the rocky quote)

I thought Luke was pretty steady overall just didn't hole his fair share of the 15-30 footers. Rory looked pretty wayward and did a lot of scrambling to good effect and Tiger actually played the better golf of the 3 tee to green but never holed anything.

i know mate, his short game is 2nd to none and his approach shots aswell.but that doesn't make him better to watch than the other guys.....i do like luke though and what he did at the end of last season was unbelievable.

You can't win any tournament on day one, only put yourself out of contention. I don't think Woods or Donald will be too woried about their round today. First competitive round of the season and bound to be the odd bit of rustiness. I think the scores will improve throughout the week unless the wind gets up

Let's hope so for Kaymer's sake.

Yep Kaymer is well off the pace at +5

its nice to see the majority of players at par or under, with only 5 shots to the leader, I dont like it when someone is 10 shots above everyone else on day 1, unless that man is Rory of course :-)

Fragger

Is it just me, or after having looked to see who is top ten, i have a quick scan to see who is rubbish? Some bloke was 15 over. That is junk. Worse still, he has to play again tomorrow. It could get worse. Kaymer and queros are not doing that badly!
