Pro golfer puts the knife into the R&A

A whingeing Aussie ...

That's a first ;)...

With a pretty reasonable point! While it's costing the officials inconvenience, it's costing the players serious (opportunities for) cash! How much did that double cost Spieth!

7 and 11 are probably the most exposed holes on the course and 10 is a driveable par 4 in some winds. While I'm certain the officials weren't 'in the clubhouse sipping whisky and smoking cigars' I don't believe they were handling it as well as they could. They seemed to panic to attempt to avoid a Monday finish, rather than just accepting the conditions were going to require it!

I'd like to see the evidence of a 10-15% increase in the wind speed that they mentioned!

Yet while he was whinging, his FC and fellow Australian Ryan Fox, who bogeyed the 8th hole to go +1 for the championship was playing in round 3 having played the back 9 in 4 under to make the cut.

I notice Mr Hend also bogeyed 3 of the last 5 holes in round 1. It's easy to whinge when things don't go your way but normally you can find the real reason a little closer to home.

I'm sure you'll be glad that Ryan Fox probably isn't a forum member and thus won't see you calling him an Aussie :D

We get used to it! And it's tough for me to recognise (or actually listen to) my native accent!

Better to call us all Kiwis! Not only will the real Kiwis be surprisingly pleased that you 'recognise the difference', but the Aussies will react far more (in their usual subtle way) and there's nearly 10 times as many of them to upset too!

Having spent almost a year in NZ I find I know exactly what you mean :)
