Apologies to everyone under 45 but there used to be a fantastic golf program on BBC called Pro celebrity golf. It was as it's moniker a pro teamed with a celebrity...a proper celebrity not a TOWIE type. Anyway every week the likes of Tom Watson and Lee Trevino would play 9 with a celebrity against another pro and celeb. I loved it, proper golf entertainment. Anyhow would you watch a modern version with someone like Poults and Darren Clarke as pro's or indeed some other pro but they must have a sense of humour. I'd love to see it back.

I use to watch it. Knew a cameraman at the BBC who use to film it every year. Sad to shatter a few illusions but a lot of these guests weren't very good and time was tight to get fliming done and so it wasn't unknown to film them making a swing, someone to throw the ball by hand onto the green and edit the two together.

I sold James Bolam the pair of Stylo shoes he wore when he was on there! He rocked up at the club to get the clubs from the locker and found he hadn't packed any golf shoes. I sold him a pair and he jumped into a cab to the airport to fly to Scotland a happy man

Ah! Homer old boy but would you like to see it back, I seem to remember the likes of Nigel Mansell and James Hunt having decent handicaps though.

my mate text me tonight and said jimmy bullard is playing in the euro pro tour Q school. hes a scratch golfer ! that i didnt know !!

what ever happened to STYLO i used to have a pair and a pair of STYLO matchmakers football boots think they were endorsed by ALLAN BALL,happy days,as for celebrities the few i have played with have been proper (cant use bad language so fill in your own )

NO NO NO.
Think it through.
The first guest would be Bruce Forsyth.

Joking apart..the BBC would never be able to pay the fees of modern top Pro's.

Stylo Greensneekers, I sold thousands of those.
Anyone still wearing a pair.

Were they the rubber ones with the decorative 'tongue' over the laces, available in all shades of black and gaurenteed to make your feet ache ?

Alan Ball wore white Hummel, which were/are decent boots, unlike Stylo which were appalling! Kevin Keegan wore adidas with the three stripes painted out and the Stylo line painted on.

Used to love Pro Celebrity Golf as well as Pot Black, different age now and dont know whether you could get the top Pro's to join in

i watched one of the SHELL golf things and GARY PLAYER came out with a quote that beating BIG JACK in this was his biggest ever pay day,how times change.

It might not ever come back for TV, but it's the sort of thing that would be good for a charity day / event. If the BBC wern't cutting all their golf it might have happened...!
