Today there was a winter pro am

Howling gale bad driving wind

The team that cam second went round in 3 under par

Guess what the winning team was

The last one I played in there the winning team won by 11 shots, so Im guessing its a silly double figure score lol.

Expect it was pretty brutal out there, frustrated I couldnt be there even still. How did your team do?

Came 4th I think 1 under

The winning team had two people playing of 20 and a young 14 year old girl who was playing off 22 and she shot an 80 !! Gross par the last 6 holes !!

If she shot 80 gross she beat my pro (he shot 81) and im guessing plenty of other pros. Used to be pretty normal the winning scores but been a few ridiculous ones lately (often involving females, members of the home club or both too i believe), shame if it gets a rep for that as was always one you felt was on a fair playing field and had every chance to win

Well I played out of my skin and shot a 79 - was delighted

She beat half the pros

The 550 par 5 into wind - she birdied !!

They came from Wyboston I believe

It would be a shame if it gets a rep - there was a lot of shock around when the score was announced !! Sam the Pro is possibly going to do some digging.

Who was your Pro ?

Top shooting Phil, great score in the conditions

Terry Bunyan from Aylesbury Vale, said it was as hard as hed played in in 37 years lol

I haven't played in conditions that tough

Drivers only going about 180 into wind !!

Had to use a driver on par 3 17th

Tough conditions with greens quick as hell

Oh the winning score was 15 under -129

They went round the back 9 ( the harder 9 ) in 14 under

utterly ridiculous, thats twice this year theres been a winner by a massive margin, not great

I know - even worse in the weather today. Sam Smiths team ( local ) thought they had it sown up with a 4 under par !!

Mark the organiser wasn't pleased at all and the round of applause was very muted

Never witnessed anything like that in a PGA East Pro Am.

Haha not like Sams team to be up there, pretty sure it was his team that won by a wide margin last time too!

Yeah they did last time - all nice guys who had a great round

They have one on 16th Jan - going to play that but anything like today and won't bother again

Not aware of a youngster from Wybo with a 22 handicap and can't see any new names on their listing. Only juniors they have are the Mills sisters and they're much lower handicaps.

Martyn Peacock is the pro there now - was it a team led by him or his assistant David...damn brain can't recall his surname! Ooh - it's Law I think!

The Pro was called Martin ( not sure if that was first or last name ) but pretty sure it wasnt Peacock

Not sure then as don't know another Martin at Wybo but have lost touch a bit.

Not 100% that they were from Wyboston - that is what was rumoured. Certainly could have been from further afield. Didn't recognise the pro.

I could be doing her a great disservice and she had the bona fide round of her life.
