Having watched a couple of the news programmes on this wouldn't it be a good idea to start by deporting the Albanian and Eastern European drug lords ?

Would be if could control our borders; as we apparently can't we're probably better off keeping them locked up here. That's not to say I don't agree with your sentiments.

Why is it that drugs, legal highs, cigarettes, phones , etc can be smuggled into the prisons.
Are people not searched before visiting, delivering /services

Sort that problem and a chunk of the other problems vanish

Its gets thrown over walls, there may be corrupt workers as well.
