Princes - Himalayas Course

Hi Guys,

Off to play Princes tomorrow - Himalayas Course

Has anyone been down there recently and played and could give an update on the condition of the course, and how it has been playing?

First time I have played for a while (long while), used to be a member down Royal Blackheath and stopped playing around 7 years ago but trying to get back in to golf through my brother nagging me.

Any advice would be great.

Himalayers is just one of the 9's; normally played in conjunction with another.

Princes have an active course management programme, including aggressive dressing - so last weeks situation may, or may not, reflect what you find. However, this approach also has the benefit that it's generally in pretty good condition and can be fast running.

Thanks Duncan. I know it has 3 different courses all 9 holes but was not too sure how you go about playing I guess i will find out tomorrow.

Quite excited to play, as i have played several courses around south east England but not many links.

I haven't been there since the forum meet over a year ago but the Himalayas 9 were very different from the Shore and Dunes, less linksy like, I'd have said. Not my favourite links course at all but I hope you enjoy it

I hope so too. It is a society day so if the course proves to be difficult and the weather slighlty dull i am sure the day it self will be good fun.

Just a quick update - played yesterday couldn't of asked for better weather. Played Himalayas first nine shot 47 12 over, and on the back on Shore birdied the first 2 holes and shot a 43 7 over. 90 overall all, playing off 28 handicap.

Was a great day, and a great course.
